Our Story
My name is Megan! I'm a mother to a curious, nature-loving two-year-old girl. The creation of my daughter inspired my mission to raise her in a simple, nature-based way. She did tummy time on the grass outside, as we talked about birds and insects. Soon after she was walking, her first steps were into the creek. Like me, she is most at peace outside and would rather suffer from frostbite than come indoors!
I started my education at Hagerstown Community College in Human Services, with a concentration in child development. After my daughter was born, I worked in special education classrooms as a paraprofessional, and am accelerating through my bachelor's degree in elementary education at Western Govenor's University.
Tinkergarten's outdoor curriculum stood out to me because it allows me to blend my love of nature with my love of teaching and share that with fellow explorers! I truly feel like the Forest Friends program is the best way to teach my own daughter, and I know your little humans will love it, too!
